I spent a couple days in NYC doing press for the album + hanging out. Yesterday I received this recording by Indaba Music that brought back a ton of great memories of getting lost in the jungle. JULY 22, 2014 — Today, New York City’s JoonBug is exclusively premiering, “Not Playing to Lose.” JoonBug hails David’s new album, Along the Way, as a “…genre defier.”
“Genres…they’re limiting; they demand commitment from a wisp of emotion, a magical moment or a fleeting thought, all blended into a lifetime of musical memories. It just doesn’t seem fair to categorize a visceral culmination. Okay, we’ll concede that genres serve a purpose: they streamline a fan base by directing the songs to like-minded listeners. Fair enough, but can an album defy all genres by having mass appeal?
You judge. Singer-songwriter David Rosales‘ new album may do just that. A little bit of Americana, a lil’ California, rock ‘n’ roll, country, folk…it’s a genre defier…”

JULY 9, 2014 — Today, Guitar World Magazine is exclusively premiering David’s “sweetly optimistic, fun-loving song”, Slice of Heaven.
This solo acoustic performance is a bit more “laid back” than the “much peppier, twangier version” on the album (available on iTunes HERE), yet equally appealing of course. GW’s Laura Whitmore writes, “I particularly love the chorus, ‘We don’t give a damn how we look when we dance…’ Right on!”

JULY 1, 2014 — David’s single, “Too Young to Know Better,” is premiering today on Taste of Country Network’s Website, The Boot!!!
JUNE 16, 2014 — Very excited to have Denver-based online music magazine, The Prelude Press, give a feature review of David’s new EP, Along the Way (out June 17th)!!!
“…To be honest, I was sold on this album from the very beginning of the first track. There are just some songs that are so good, so well-written and relaxing, that you can close your eyes and let the music transport you to a different place, and that’s exactly what happened upon my first time listening to ‘Too Young to Know Better.'” – Shannon Shumaker, The Prelude Press (US)
